CH3TRIS — The 3×3 Chess Challenge

No guardamos tu dirección IP, no usamos cookies propias y no sabemos quién juega.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 October 2026

CH3TRIS is a chess puzzle game that runs on your device. The short version: no sign-up, no personal details asked for, no ads, and no tracking across apps or websites. Some technical data does leave your device so the game works and so we know how much it is played; this page explains what, why and who receives it.

Summary

What we never collect: name, email, phone number, precise location, contacts, advertising identifiers or card details.
What does leave your device: anonymous game counters, your daily-challenge time if you solve it (for the giveaway), purchase verification if you unlock the game, update checks and, on the web, cookie-less usage measurement. Details below.

Data stored on your device

To remember your progress (level, best scores, preferences and whether you have already played today's challenge), the game stores a small amount of data locally on your device. It is not sent to any server and is removed if you uninstall the app or clear your browser data.

Game counter (iPhone and Android apps)

When you start or finish a game in the app, we tell our server (ch3tris.com) so it can add one to a counter. We only send: whether the game started or finished, the game mode, whether it is iPhone or Android and, when the daily challenge ends, whether it was solved or ran out of time. We only keep each day's total (for example, “40 daily challenges started on Android today”), with no row per player. We send and store no identifiers, and we do not store your IP address. Purpose: knowing how much the apps are played. Basis: our legitimate interest in measuring usage anonymously.

Daily challenge and giveaway

When the daily challenge ends, the game asks ch3tris.com for a code for the link you can share. If you solved it, the request includes your time and moves so the solution can be checked; we store the code, the challenge day and the seconds, used for the daily giveaway (ties go to the fastest). If you arrived through another player's link, we also store which code brought you. We do not store your IP address or anything that identifies you. When someone opens a shared link (ch3tris.com/daily), we count the click: the code, the day, the referring site (for example “x” or “linkedin”) and the time.

In-app purchases

If you unlock the full version, payment is handled by Apple or Google; we never see your payment details. To verify the purchase we use RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous identifier generated by the app and the history of that purchase, without your name or email.

Game updates

The apps receive game improvements without going through the store, using Capgo. The app checks whether a new version exists; Capgo receives the app and system version, the platform, a random installation identifier (not an advertising ID, and not usable to follow you across apps), the IP address and whether the update installed correctly.

Web usage analytics

On ch3tris.com we use Umami, privacy-friendly analytics, to understand aggregate usage: pages visited, approximate country, device type and actions such as playing the daily challenge or tapping the download buttons. It sets no cookies and builds no profiles. The apps do not include Umami.

CH3TRIS on other websites

Some publishers and clubs embed CH3TRIS (the game or the card) on their websites. Inside the embedded game, Umami (cookie-less) and Google Fonts, described on this page, also run. We also count loads, games and clicks on “Share” and on the partner's link, to report to each partner: which website embeds it, the page, the challenge day, the result and the game duration. To keep “one attempt per day”, the browser stores whether you have played today's challenge and your result. We do not store your IP address, set no cookies of our own and do not know who is playing. Our hosting provider may add a technical cookie.

Fonts

The game's fonts are downloaded from Google Fonts, which, like any server, receives the device's IP address when serving them.

Publisher contact form

Our commercial page for news publishers (ch3tris.com/embed) includes a voluntary business contact form. If you submit it, we store exactly what you type: your publication's name, your work email and, if provided, your publication's website, together with the language and date of the submission. Purpose: answering your request for a demo or commercial information about CH3TRIS Embed/Card. Basis: your own request when submitting the form. We do not use this data for advertising, we do not share it with third parties, and we keep it only for as long as the business conversation or relationship lasts.

Advertising and tracking

CH3TRIS contains no ads, sells no data and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. The providers named here (RevenueCat, Capgo, Umami, Google Fonts and our hosting) only process data to provide their service to us.

Retention and your rights

Counters are anonymous totals and are kept for as long as CH3TRIS exists. Daily-challenge codes and times are kept for as long as they serve the giveaway and statistics. You can write to us to ask for information, correction or deletion of any data concerning you. The controller is CH3TRIS (ch3tris.com).

Children

The app is suitable for all audiences: it asks for no personal data and shows no ads.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the game works, we will update this page and its date.
